"Bayard and Hester Sts., just S. and N. of Canal, are reminders of the Bayard farm stretching along the W. side of the Bowery as far as Bleecker St., and belonging to a nephew of Peter Stuyvesant, the second of these streets was named after Hester Bayard." #324 Byron Collection Museum of the City of New York N.B.
