(Negative on file) #4468 Unknown Photographer Looking North on Mott Street from Hester. The first building on the left with the awning is 131 Mott Street. The two wheel cart in the center of the street is a Sanitation Department cart for collecting refuse. The two boys holding covered trays above their heads (right foreground) are delivering pastries, etc., from bakery to a restaurant or store. In the background at the top of the street is the faint outline of a skyscraper. It is the tower of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (completed 1908).
